Traveling Tuesdays :: The Adventure Begins!

by 12:00 AM

Well! The journey begins! As you know if you've kept up with this blog, Andy and I have really wanted to have some sort of epic trip adventure, you can see this post, from almost a year ago where I talk about our plans for a road trip adventure.
I'm beyond thankful for this whole thing. We've been building our business to allow ourselves freedom to work for ourselves where ever we want for over 2 years now! With Andy joining the business full time in January we're ready to head out on our first adventure together!  It will follow a route similar to the trip I took back in November only this time I get to bring my husband, which I am pretty stoked about! I am not sure I can even put into words how excited I am or how blessed I feel that this trip is actually happening. We've literally been talking about it for years! It seems perfect that our 5 year anniversary falls right in the middle of our trip, we spent our honeymoon on an epic road trip out to Colorado and it feels fitting to be celebrating this milestone the same way!

We'll spend the first 2 weeks hanging out in KY! While there we're staying with Andy's sister Jillian and her 3 boys!
Some things we're going to be seeing and you'll be able to look for in future posts:
Abbey of Gethsemeni  I missed this on my last trip and I am beyond excited to stop by. I am fully immersed in No Man Is an Island by Thomas Merton right now and he joined this community in 1941. I am actually happy I missed it last time, I feel like I will have a whole different appreciation this time around.
The Red Yeti: I got to go here the last time I visited Kentucky, seriously if you are ever near Louisville, KY or Jeffersonville, IN stop what you're doing and go order their Parmesan Truffle Oil Fries. They are to die for.
I mean seriously look at those things!

We of course can't miss hitting one of the distilleries. We haven't settled on which one yet but, I think it would be a crime to not visit at least one (a crime I definitely committed last time I was in KY). I am not 100% sure what else is on the agenda for KY, except spending some serious quality time with our nephews and Jillian. I am beyond pumped to see everyone again.

After KY, we plan to head to Florida to spend 3 weeks there! We have a ton planned while we are there! To start with a few things:
March is peak Manatee season, so we are really looking forward to heading to Homassa Springs for some excellent Manatee watching. Possibly some snorkeling too but we're not 100% on that yet.
We'll be in FL for our 5 year anniversary! We plan to spend that weekend camping on the beach, doing absolutely nothing for a few days :)
Since it will be prime Spring Training Season, we will hopefully be hitting up a spring training game with one of our dearest friends from college.

Here's  bit of a preview from my last trip:

After Florida we're hoping to hit Virginia to see some more of our friends from college and then we're hoping to hit Massachusetts to visit some of Andy's side of the family before coming home.

There is so much more in the works I can't wait to take all of you on this adventure with us!

To keep up with it all make sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter (@maybe_heather) and subscribe here for all the goodness and adventures!

Love you all!

Update: Sparring, Babies, and Shopping

by 1:41 PM
So first thing you should all know is that I am giving up my afternoon nap to write a blog for you. It's a rainy and cold day that is perfect for napping too! But, I figured I should be a grown up and do something semi-productive. Adulting is hard guys.

I guess since I left my camera at Christopher's and have no pictures to do a more interesting post we'll go with a "what have you been up to Heather" post. I know you are all really interested in my trips to Target so I'll oblige.

We had another pretty full and exciting weekend

We did actually start out with a pretty great trip to Target, call me crazy but, walking around Target is one of my favorite things to do! Technically we were shopping for my niece's birthday but, I couldn't resist getting myself a few gifts too. No, it's not my birthday, I just might be spoiled haha! Anyways, I picked up what has become my new favorite mug ever. Seriously I have used it every day since I bought it, which you know if you follow me on Instagram because I post a lot of pictures of it.
I also bought some Baby Lips tinted chapsticks, the name and packaging is the worst ever but, they are so freaking awesome. I know I say everything is my favorite, but these are my favorite.

Then Saturday I headed off with Sarah to Travel Well for Local Fest, which is an event put on by The Shirt Factory. I was put on "Thatcher Watching" duty for the day. Obviously I was more than okay with that!  It was super great to get to hang out with Sarah and Thatcher for a whole day, it's been awhile since that has happened. Quick fun story about the ball that Thatcher is playing with in these pics, this was actually a ball we bought for Liam so he would have toys at our apartment and sent it off with Drew and Sarah when we moved out. I am impressed it has lasted this long, I think it was $1 from Target almost 5 years ago! Happy to see it being passed down haha!

The first picture is his "Why the heck are you not rolling me back over Aunty Heather" face

I did get to wander around local fest, where I made my routine Shirt Factory stops to AdirondackAromatherapy andSensibiliTeas. I of course  had to buy some new tea for my fancy new mug! I do not remember the name of the Renaissance re-enacting team that was there, I thought I grabbed a picture of the sign so I could remember, but I apparently forgot that too!  Anyways they were doing fire breathing and had a sparring ring set up! So that was pretty entertaining to sit and watch for bit!

Also on Saturday (we had a pretty full Saturday) we celebrated our neice McKenzie's 5th birthday! It was a really great time that you get to see no pictures of because I left my camera at Christopher's house that evening! But, we did have smores and I almost had my eye poked out by a 5 year old with a marshmallow stick! I know it's hard to believe this really happened with no picture evidence so I'll move on.

Sunday the most fabulous thing happened, that has not happened it so long. We did nothing. We slept in, took naps, watched movies, and played video games. It was the most glorious day that has happened in awhile. It has been so long since we have had a day with 0 plans.
We did have to get up that evening to send off Seth and Rochelle who head back to Papua New Guinea tomorrow!! But, that was a welcome addition to our relaxing day! A request to you all that you pray for them, especially over the next few days flying basically 30 hours non stop...with 3 boys under 5! I know they would really appreciate it!

I almost forgot! We made new shirt designs! This was actually more like 2 weeks ago but, since this blog is already way to long I am just going to add it in! Shout out to my Supernatural and Doctor Who fans! I did the Supernatural shirt and Andy made the 8 bit TARDIS. I am really excited about these! They might be my 2 favorite shirts we have in the shop :)

These are for sale in our spread shirt store, you can click the shirts or you can click the link in the sidebar!

That's really it. our weekdays have been filled with boring things like work and doctors appointments! So i won't bore you with any of that! We're prepping to have another full weekend so I am sure I'll have more interesting stories to tell! I do have some more makeup monday's and recipe posts lined up!
I ALSO HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ABOUT BOOK CLUB! Well I've sort of forgotten. but, I am working on the books and posts stick with me :)

Okay, sorry to have written you all a novel but, we've apparently been up to a lot!
Love you all!

Life, Things, and Weekend Adventures!

by 2:12 PM

Hello!

It has been a crazy last few weeks between our business hitting the "busy season", family events, and Cheese Tour, it doesn't seem possible that September is almost over and Fall is in full swing!
We did finally get a free weekend, which was exciting! Although, now that I sit down to write about it I can't remember a single thing we did (as per usual haha)!
Saturday Andy headed with Drew to do some shopping for Drew and Sarah's Yurt (how freaking exciting that they'll be able to get it up soon! :) ) I stayed home and got some serious cleaning done. I know that sounds super boring but, I am one of those freaks who really enjoys cleaning or I should say I really enjoy being done cleaning and the whole apartment being all shiny. So, when I get a whole day to just clean the house, it is one of my favorite feelings. (Yeah, I know I'm weird).

I almost forgot to mention the most exciting part about Saturday! The Doctor Who Marathon and new season premier! I was so impressed by the premier episode. In my opinion, it has to be one of the best episodes Moffat has written in a long time. I won't get into my thoughts too much because spoilers, I know some of you haven't watched it. (I am looking directly at you Jillian....with my judging face)

Between Andy and Drew's trip and us starting a project on Sunday, we made 3 trips to Lowe's in one weekend! I felt like such a real adult! Well that was until I found some signs that has been rearranged and laughed like a child...I know real mature Heather!

Anyways, since we have the office set up where a normal table would be in our apartment we've just had our table awkwardly placed between the office area and the kitchen. It wasn't functional at all, we barely even used it. So Andy decided we should put up a bar table! So that was our project on Sunday! We (and by we I mean Andy, although I did hold the level a few times) built this L shaped bar. We still need to add one piece of trim on the side then, next thing is to get some red metal stools that match the brackets! We are really loving getting settled into our new place!

We really had a full day on Sunday, we took full advantage of the fall weather, made some chili and took a walk up the Tow Path Trail. We had a very enjoyable photograph adventure! I love that Andy has really gotten into photography, it is something that we can really enjoy together. Also, to brag about him a little, he has really grown into a fantastic photographer. The last year he has watched just about every photography tutorial on YouTube, as a photographer and his wife it has been really cool to watch him grow and really develop a passion for it. (Hah, develop, that was a totally unintentional corny joke but, I am leaving it)

As my dad would say...what a goofball.

Well that's all for now! I hope you guys are fabulous!

Love you all,

Saturday Adventures! Ticonderoga!

by 3:00 AM
Saturday Andy and I took a day off from work. Like a real, whole, "I didn't even check my email" day off! I honestly don't remember the last time that happened! Originally we were going to hike Sleeping Beauty, but in the spirit of wanting to sleep in on our first day off, we woke up much too late and just decided to head on a drive instead.

This is what Andy and I do best, I love our long drives. We talk about our lives, plans for the future, listen to great podcasts and music,
they're just my favorite! We decided to head north, and ended up in Ticonderoga and then on to Crown Point and back to Fort Ann through Vermont. I think we drove like 4 hours.
I had never remembered Ticonderoga as being a pretty place, no offense to anyone who lives there, I am sure it was because I was looking at the town through the lens of high school basketball and them always beating us. Anyways, they have a super pretty park with this great waterfall and covered bridge. We just walked around and took pictures for a couple hours!
Anyways, here's a few pictures of our adventure. Andy has quite a few more over on his blog (This is a lie, he never posted them)

So! That's it for today! Let me know what your favorite way to spend Saturday is?

Love you all!

Two New Projects and a Baby

by 5:53 PM

Hello Internet!

I have been a very bad blogger the last 2 weeks! Although, in my defense, in has been a little crazy! We’ve been working extra hard to get a lot of our side projects actually up and running, ironically enough that has been keeping me away from this side project! Anyways, we've updated our Spread Shirt store, link in the side bar! Added some new designs, we are in the process of working on a new header and layout, etc! We are pretty excited to put some more time into this, I think our goal will be to put up 1 new shirt a month (if you have shirt ideas leave them in the comments or tweet us @maybe_heather @boredcollegeguy).

We are also planning on getting an Etsy store up and running, selling posters, most likely they’ll be available for digital download first, we may have full prints available in the future we’re just not sure yet!

I will let you all know as soon as that is up and running! Other than those things we have been busy working on our real jobs! Both of which have been insanely busy, however, busy is good (as my dad would tell me)!

So the most exciting thing that has happened in the last few weeks is our housemates had their baby!

Thatcher Finn Callahan was born 4/16 at 6:30am. He is the most precious little baby. You know, most new born babies are not cute, lets be real, normally they’re puffy, red, and sometimes have some seriously ,mis-shapen heads, then normally in a week or so they become an actually cute baby. Thatcher, however, came out adorable. I know I am probably biased but, he is just perfect. They just came home today ( I am writing this on Monday) and I am excited to have them back. As nice as it was to have the house to ourselves for a few days, we definitely missed them! We kept joking that we felt like “Empty nesters” with them gone! That basically sums up what we’ve been working on lately! I am sure there will be more exciting things to share with you soon! Hope you all are having a fabulous Wednesday!

 Love you all!

What's-Up Wednesday: We're Alive...Still A Little Stuffy But Alive!

by 12:00 AM
Hello!!

It has been about a week since I have posted, if you don't know, Andy and I both caught a nasty cold and were sick this whole last week. However, today I seem to be able to breathe out of at least one nostril, I have uncovered what seems to be a bedroom by removing the layer of tissues that were covering everything, I have disinfected the house, and for the first time in days I have something other than sweatpants on (lets be real, when you work from home, that's an accomplishment even when you're not sick). I'm thinking all these signs point to us being on the mend!
Needless to say, there hasn't been much new and exciting going on in our lives the last few days, except a lot of laying in bed and playing Borderlands 2.
Borderlands

This year Andy and I decided we were going to have plans to not have plans. We have been working so much lately, that we thought it would be nice to have a day with just the 2 of us. This ended up working out well because we were sick and wouldn't have gone anywhere even if this wasn't the plan! At least this way we still had everything in the house to have an Easter Dinner!
Being sick did not stop me from making a seriously delicious dinner! I love to cook and it was so nice to have some time to actually cook, not running around at 8pm trying to figure out what we are going to have for dinner. I got to make some appetizers, ham, and all the fixings! I had such great plans to take pictures to share with you all our little holiday but, I'm pretty sure you don't want to see what we looked like all sick! I did snap one pic of the food, well some of the food, we ate a lot!

I will definitely be posting the recipe for these mussels once I have refined it a bit, they were so dang good.

Even though neither of us felt very well, we had a very nice and relaxing day hanging out\! I think it was the first day off that we didn't do anything work related in a long time!

Well, I think that is all new for this week! I will be back on track with regular posts this week!

Love you all!

Am I a Hipster Now?

by 12:00 AM
I have never felt more like a Hipster in my life, I am currently sitting in a coffee shop, listening to NPR, drinking cold brew coffee....writing a blog post! Who am I?

I am not really sure of what the whole point of this post is other to sit here on my laptop and type to look like I'm doing something! Today is my "get the heck out of the house day", this is the first of hopefully many. There are many, many perks of working from home however, there are a few drawbacks, it can be difficult to concentrate at times because there are so many distractions, it can get a bit lonely not seeing people, it can be a bit hard to motivate yourself to work when there is the option to cuddle up in all your blankets and binge watch Netflix, and when you share only 1 car with your husband...you never leave the house! So, for my mental health, Andy and I decided 1 day a week he would drop me of in Glens Falls for the day so I can sit in a coffee shop and look like the freaking coolest hipster ever. Also it's just to break up the monotony of sitting at home all the time, it's only been like 30 minutes but, so far I like it. I am really hoping this will help my productivity levels during the last few days of the week, because seriously by Friday (by Friday I really mean Monday afternoon) the motivation level is gone.

I'm sure you would all find it hysterical that I'm trying real hard to get some cool selfies because there is a really great giant mirror in the room I am sitting in, however, people keep coming in here! Dang it guys!
This is the only one I was able to snap...and it's not even that great.

Well that's all this Wednesday folks! See you Friday :)

What's-up Wednesdays: Travel Plans

by 3:00 AM
Yes I needed one more title that had alliteration, judge away.

Anyways, lets get to it! I really wanted to talk about all the traveling plans Andy and I have. Now I'm not writing this post because I am 100% certain any of these things are going to happen, or even if this will all be one route, or really anything about this/these potential trip(s) because that's ultimately up to God not us. We have a few goals when it comes to traveling 1. Buy a sailboat and sail "around" the world (this would probably be 2 trips). 2. Buy an RV and do an amazing cross country road trip! Due to the logistics of world traveling, we figured we would satisfy our wanderlust first by the second option. So here is the beginnings of our planning:

Photo Cred: Andy Cox
This is a photo of the route we want to travel! It's not necessarily a route yet, it really just future destinations, as a route is proving difficult to plan, there are so many places we want to go!

So I don't know if you know this about me but, I have moved every 2 years since I was 11. I love to move. I get to know people from all over and see different places. Now as of the end of April, it will officially end that rule as I will have lived in Fort Ann officially over 2 years. I find it super weird that of all the places I have lived, this is where I have settled the longest so far, odd. Anyways all the "settling down" has kicked my wanderlust into super high gear. So we have started planning "Heather and Andy's Epic Road trip of Enter Year Here". So from now until it happens I am just going to start planning like it will. We made our first official road trip affiliated purchase with the map featured above and some sweet map pins! No I don't have a color coding system for the pins yet...but I will soon (and yes in case you're wondering I am a giant nerd), also I already ran out of pins! Anyways, this so far is a very long late night ramble all to say it's been fun planning this someday adventure with Andy and I'm excited for this to happen someday.

So if you have suggestions on where we need to go, make sure you leave me a comment!

Love you all!

4 Years!

by 10:00 PM

Wow!
I seriously cannot believe 4 years ago today I was getting married to Andy! I know everyone says that, but for real, I cannot believe it has been that long already! It's even crazier to think about how we started dating almost 8 years ago! We have lived in 2 states, in 2 apartments, had 2 great cross country road trips (okay 1 was great and 1 was marathoned and not so awesome, but still), and met some really amazing people and made some awesome memories along the way! I really can't imagine anyone more perfect for me than Andy and could not be happier to have spent the last 4 years with him!
Also be forewarned, I was originally only going to have a few photos, then I found a bunch and now this is mostly pictures :)

Colorado 2012

I am going to be cliche and sappy here for a few seconds, but I really cannot imagine my life without Andy. He is my best friend in the world, I love that we can to binge watch Doctor Who and play video games, yet we can flip a switch and work hard together and grow our business! He supports and motivates me in everything I do, no matter what crazy thing I want to pursue next, he leads and encourages my decisions.
I may have already said this but, I am beyond blessed to have this man in my life.
